Using OpenSCAP, hardened_malloc, Cromite, and our configuration files, PupaOS achieves a secure experience.

Lightweight

Even with only 1.5 GB of RAM (but with an SSD), the system is still very fast.

Frequently asked questions

I don't see any of your signature features (like Cromite). What is going on?

You clicked on Software Selection in the installer. Merely clicking it will reset our settings and you will have to reboot the installer. Sometimes it will force you to check it, reboot the installer if it happens.

Did you develop Cromite or hardened_malloc?

No. These are external projects, however we did build the spec files for them for our OS.

An app is breaking! Why?

Chances are this is caused by hardened_malloc, and there is no fix. Run the app in a container or virtual machine.

What is the difference between this and secureblue?

Mainly:

We use Cromite instead of their custom browser.
We are based on AlmaLinux, not uBlue/BlueBuild.
We are not an immutable distro.
We can (and may) sacrifice security for privacy.

You probably need to reinstall and let your user have a password. Unchecking "Require a password to use this account" may cause the login to fail.
